Our 6/24/21annual Pass the Gavel at the Alforno's Italian Kitchen was a memorable event that included induction of our incoming president and board of directors, recognition of members and fun while walking down 2020 Memory Lane.

Outgoing President Mark Smith led our 2021 Pass-the-Gavel with an overview of the 2020-2021 Lewisville Morning Rotary year. We had an amazing year in spite of operating under the constraints of the worldwide pandemic. We continued meeting weekly but virtually. Our reputation as the small club that does a lot continued with 46 service projects requiring in excess of the recorded 665 volunteer hours performed by 19 members. In addition, the club and its members donated over $22,000 to 15 local non-profits, The Rotary Foundation and End Polio Now.

Following his presentation, several members were recognized by Mark for their contributions to the past years efforts including Certificates of Appreciation for Chery Brennan, Terry Kasen, Bob Troyer, Marilyn Pokorny and John Pokorny. In addition announced the following:

Deanna Perkins the person that volunteered for almost every event was given the Service Above Self Award for her dedication to our community and Rotary.
Congratulations Deanna Perkins

The Annual Lewisville Morning Rotary Rotarian of the Year Award was given to none other than Tom Rowe for tireless contributions to the club as our Treasurer and participating in its projects, in particular for almost single handedly keeping the Household Hazardous Waste partnership with the City of Lewisville going.

Congratulations Tom!

Before inviting District Governor Roger Paschal and incoming President Traci Gardner-Petteway up for the Presidential induction, Mark regaled us with a wonderful video that nicely summarized our wonderful year.

After swearing in Traci as our new club president, our new club president invited the 2021-2022 Board of Directors to come up to the podium to be inducted by District Governor Roger.

DG Roger Pascal performed the induction ceremony for the 2021-2022 Board of Directors

District Governor Roger Paschal would not give up the podium before providing members with Awards from The Rotary Foundation for participation by all our members in Rotary Foundation giving.

These normally would have been given at the District 5790 Foundation Banquet that was cancelled as a result of the pandemic.

We had a nice turnout for this event. The majority of our members were there. Even three of former members joined us.
