HUMANITY IN ACTION
June 28, 2016
In less than a week, as the day draws nearer I am thrilled, as I have readied myself to take over the role of club president. I have pondered many thoughts over the last several months of preparation. The good news is that the fear and anxiety have turned into excitement and focus.
Rewind to February there were a flurry of emails about the coming year, pre-P.E.T.S, P.E.T.S. (President Elect Training), and preparing for the year. Oh no what have I gotten myself into? Am
I ready for this? In addition, Rotarian All-Stars surround me.
Then Pre-pets came and went, which only elevated my panic mode. During training I listened to so many past presidents words of encouragement and support, yet I was still nervous.
While at P.E. T. S. things became clear. It was during the training that I learned more about Rotary International than I could have ever imagined. It was a true Rotary moment! I have gained a sense of who I am and how I fit into the bigger scheme of Rotary. Now what lies ahead of me is the task of staying focused and not trying to take on too much in my year as President.
The Board and I have entered the final stages of preparation and this makes me feel even more positive about the coming year. What a great bunch of dedicated and highly focused individuals. We should all expect great things as a club this year!
I would like to thank you all and leave you with this year's Rotary theme: "Rotary Serving Humanity." #HumanityInAction
