May 21, 2020 Morning Meeting Newsletter

Does anyone else miss volunteering at Household Hazardous Waste? This writer does and looks forward to a new normal that includes rescheduling HHW on the 2nd Saturday of the month...it does not appear the City of Lewisville will be restarting anytime soon in order to protect both volunteers and staff.

But, if anything, our club is flexible in serving the community. In spite of Covid 19, our club continues supporting the community through area wide non-profit donations and service projects such as the Central Elementary School Perfect Attendance/Engagement Bike awards and the Socially distanced and Masked Drive by Congrats recognition for our CES Alumni High School Grads and the Socially Distanced Drive-by Congrats recognition for CES 5th Graders this past Monday. Check out the events and the stories below...particularly the video created honoring the CES teachers. We are announcing the 12 bike winners at the May 21st meeting.

We are meeting virtually Thursday, 8 AM May 21, 2020  via Zoom!

Celebrating Central Elementary School Graduates
Members cheered the CES Alumni of the 2020 LHS Graduating Class
and the 5th Graders at Central ES that graduated
at Drive By Parades on the Campus May 18

For several years members of the Lewisville Morning Rotary have been supporting our adopted school in many different ways. It is always fun to watch the students succeed and graduate from elementary, from high school and even college. Bob, Deanna, Charlene, Marilyn, John and Mickey had a great time cheering both set of grads.
A guest from Russia will be joining us at Thursday's meeting
Members are always encouraged to invite guest to our meetings.
Even our virtual meetings. This week, I have invited
Valentina Bogdanova of the Rotary Club Sochi Center

She is visiting us virtually from Russia as the President of the brand new Rotary Club of Sochi. Our club has agreed to be one of the sponsors for this club. After Mary Jones tells us about her vocation and love of Rotary, we are hopeful of hearing about Valentina and the new club she will be leading. It will be a busy meeting, as Tom also will be announcing the 12 Central ES Bike Winners.
