Lewisville Morning Rotary does End Polio
On Monday, October 21st, members from both Lewisville Rotary Clubs (Morning & Noon) were recognized at the Lewisville City Council meeting for our work with Rotary International to eradicate polio world wide. Council declared the week of Oct 20 through Oct 26, 2019 as Lewisville End Polio Week and Oct 24, 2019 as World Polio Day in Lewisville. Several members from both clubs celebrated at Alkey's Lounge and Eatery prior to the meeting (see related story below).

Lewisville Morning and Noon Rotary Clubs Celebrate End Polio Proclamation
The City of Lewisville City Council to recognizes
Rotary International, and the Lewisville Morning and Lewisville Noon Rotary Clubs
by Proclaiming Oct 20th through Oct 26th as End Polio Week in Lewisville
and Oct 24th as World Polio Day
 
At the October 21st, 7 pm Lewisville City Council meeting, council proclaimed the week of Oct 20 through Oct 26 as End Polio Week in Lewisville in honor of Rotary and World Polio Day which is celebrated internationally on October 24, 2019.  Members from both clubs celebrated the event prior at Alkey's Lounge and Eatery with food, beverages, fun and End Polio Now challenges between club leaders.

Rotary Volunteers at the Oct12th HHW
Twelve Rotary Volunteers work with City Staff members
to assist Lewisville residents to
safely dispose of Household Hazardous Waste
 
On this fairly cool (by Texas standards) fall day members of our Rotary club served at the monthly Household Hazardous Waste Saturday. The term "making work fun" comes to life with this crew of members Todd Taylor (Chair), Mark Smith, Maithen Fluhrer,
George Gober, Deanna Perkins, Jeff Lighton, Sam Taylor, Terry Kasen, Bob Troyer, Roxanne Troyer and John Pokorny worked together to help residents from several Lewisville homes properly dispose of their Hazardous Household Waste.

Breakfast With Santa planning is in full swing
The Breakfast with Santa committee is working hard
to make this years Breakfast with Santa on Dec. 7th
the best and most memorable ever.
 
The committee assignments are made and members are volunteering to serve on various committees. One or those committees is the Sponsorship Committee headed up by past president Ray Bowens. Club members are asked to contact Ray or a member of the Sponsor Committee to help identify and solicit event sponsors. Members can ask businesses to sponsor online by clicking here. or by asking businesses to complete a downloadable sponsor form by clicking here.
