Membership in LMR is by invitation. I'm sure we all know some folks with great personalities that we'd love to work with.
Since we launched our Membership campaign in October, members have brought 111 Non-Rotarian guests have visited our meetings, 7 of which are now members. And, on March 31, 2016 we are inducting 3 more.
Keep up the great work. Don't forget, in April members who have brought the most guests will be served ice cream by the losers that brought the fewest.
Thank you to the Board of Directors and other club members that have been working to establish this years goals. Most of the goals were established when we established the 3 year Strategic Plan that was implemented in July of 2013. Our planning this year focused on enhancing our Membership Development efforts.
Goal #1
Grow membership by a net of 10%
To achieve this growth we will be implementing an aggressive membership recruitment program that Bob Troyer reviewed Club Assembly
We will investigate feasibility of implementing a satelite club on the east side of Lake Lewisville to include Little Elm, Colony & Castle
Hills areas

6 Community Service Projects that will include 900 Volunteer hours for the year
Expand youth services projects to include EarlyAct at Central and investigate implementing Interact at TCHS
Youth Services will include budgeting for 2 RYLA students and the identification of an exchange student host
Goal #3
Foundation Goals include continuing member and club contributions at rate of $3,100 per year
We will increase Benefactor participation by 2 members

At our January 21st regular weekly meeting Lewisville Morning Rotary hosted our 1st ever 4 Way Speech Contest for students from The Colony High School. We heard 4 wonderful speeches. The subject of each speech was how each student sees the application of the Rotary 4 Way Test of the things we say and do in todays world culture. All the students performed well. There were no losers. The highest scoring contestant will have the opportunity to perform their speech at the Rotary District 5790 Regional Contest in Lewisville on April 30, 2016.

Many of our Lewisville Morning Rotary members will remember fellow Rotarian Yancy Spivey. Yancy is now a Rotarian near his home where he lives in Oklahoma. Yancy and I recently shared new years greetings on LinkedIn. He is still bragging on his buds at LMR. See quote below...
"Miss you guys as well! Im always bragging on you guys as the hardest working Rotarians I've ever been associated with! Have a great New Year!"
We honored Ashley Abraham as the Hebron HS Student of the Month at our 14 January 2016 breakfast meeting.
Ashley was introduced by Principal Scot Finch and accompanied by her sister. LMR John Pokorny presented Ashley with the Certificate of Achievement. As with every SOTM, Ashley's accomplishments indicate she has a bright future in front of her.

1. Put 400 bricks in a closed room. 2. Put your new hires in the room and close the door. 3. Leave them alone and come back after 6 hours. 4. Then analyze the situation: a. If they are counting the bricks, put them in the Accounting Department. b. If they are recounting them, put them in Auditing. c. If they have messed up the whole place with the bricks, put them in Engineering. d. If they are arranging the bricks in some strange order, put them in Planning. e. If they are throwing the bricks at each other, put them in Operations. f. If they are sleeping, put them in Security. g. If they have broken the bricks into pieces, put them in Information Technology. h. If they are sitting idle, put them in Human Resources. i. If they say they have tried different combinations, they are looking for more, yet not a brick has been moved, put them in Sales. j. If they have already left for the day, put them in Management. k. If they are staring out of the window, put them in Strategic Planning. l. If they are talking to each other, and not a single brick has been moved, congratulate them and put them in Top Management.
Finally, if they have surrounded themselves with bricks in such a way that they can neither be seen nor heard from, put them in Congress.
