R.I.T.E Teacher Exchange Program
Our R.I.T.E. Teacher for '08 sent this note of appreciation after her presentation to the club on her exchange trip to Mexico.
Esteemed Rotary Members: Thank you sincerely for allowing me a public opportunity to express my appreciation in attending the R.I.T.E Exchange program in Escarcega, Mexico.
I am here to serve in any capacity that I am able to serve the Rotary vision. As you know I am currently working on my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction with Concordia University's South Dallas cohort group. My intent is to incorporate volunteering with Rotary to provide a format for some of my Master's coursework. This would allow me to return to Mexico and use the gift of language that has been provided to me by my public school education in Pecos, Texas. I am inherently proud of that little town. It served my educational needs beyond the expectations of any major Texas university. I was ready!
Thank you for your interest in helping the residents of Escarcega to achieve for their town one of the basic public needs of fire prevention and firefighting services. I am willing to do all that I can possibly fit into my current life to meet this goal. Respectfully, Ana Maria Miramontes-Roquemore
