The Lewisville Morning Rotary Foundation Committee has been busy planning this years activities. We have a goal to raise Annual Fund Donations to the Foundation of $4000. These are the funds that are ultimately invested by the Foundation and the interest from the donations raised during the next 3 years are used for local projects such as our dictionary project. After 3 years, those funds are use for Global Grants such as the TEACH project our club is doing in partnership with the Rotary Club of Nasik in India.

Our Foundation committee has a goal to raise $2000 for End Polio Now.
Stay tuned to hear more about the fall and spring fund raisers we have planned to raise these funds and create awareness of End Polio Now efforts in our Community.
The Foundation Committee also intends for our club to reach the 100% Paul Harris Fellow Status once more this year
Committee members will be contacting those not yet a Paul Harris Fellow to arrange a plan to help them achieve Paul Harris Fellow status.

Global and District Grants

The Foundation Committee is working closely with the International Committee and the Dictionary Committee on three Rotary Foundation Matching Grant Requests.
1. A request for matching District Designated Funds for our Dictionary Project. Funds raised for this project from the car show will be matched with a $1,500 grant from TRF
2. A Global Grant Request has been submitted to the Rotary Foundation to assist in funding this $39,298. project to improve literacy programs in 10 India Tribal Region Schools. Funds raised by our club projects are matched with fund pledges from Nasik RC, other local Rotary clubs such as LNR and FMR, a club in California, District Designated funds from Districts 3030 and 5790 and finally a match from the Rotary Foundation. We are anxiously waiting to hear from the Rotary Foundation final approval of this project.
3. Our latest project is a Vocational Training Project in partnership with The Rotary Club of Nasik in Nasik, India. The Vocational Training Teams will be studying Water Management in the Tribal Regions of India. This training will consist of 8 participants from India coming to Texas to learn how we manage design and manage our dams, reservoirs and water treatment and distribution systems. We in Texas plan to send a team of 7 participants to the India tribal regions to assess the best way of capturing, storing and transporting the water they receive during the monsoon season to use all year long for agriculture, hygiene and drinking. This study will be a precursor to a future Global Matching Grant project that will use the information gathered to identify the most sustainable method of providing water for the Tribal peoples of India.

The Foundation Committee currently includes: John Pokorny, Chair, Carolyn Wright, International Chair, Traci Pettiway, member and Joe Adair, member. Anyone interested in participating on the Foundation Committee is welcome to join by contacting John Pokorny.
