Betty Bengo Serunjoji
 
Born and raised in Uganda, Betty is married to Peter Serunjoji. They have three(3) sons Peter, Joshua and Daniel, ages 10, 8 & 6 years respectively. A lawyer by profession, Betty will be speaking to us on the subject of Education for Girls in Uganda.
 
Betty earned a Bachelors degree in law from Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda, Diploma in Legal Practice, Kampala, Uganda and Masters degree in Human Rights St Thomas University Miami, Florida

While in Uganda, she worked with various Human Rights Organizations for example The Uganda Human Rights Commission responsible for enacting laws to protect Human Rights, Legal Aid, Uganda where she has provided Legal Representation to the under served population mostly women and children.

Currently, she is focusing her work for Malaika Orphanage Children Foundation an organization she founded. She currently serves as the President for the organization. Malaika is registered in Uganda as a nonprofit and Texas as a 501(c)(3).  
 
In Uganda, Malaika Orphanage Children Foundation operates an Orphanage with various tailored Programs designed to benefit the under served populations that include Orphans, Disabled children and Children infected with HIV AIDS.

To Benefit our community in Arlington Texas,  Malaika has designed a Character Education and Leadership Program teaching life skills to the youth. Malaika has partnered with Harmony Science Academy Grand Prairie to mentor the youth in this school.
 
Betty is a member of the member of Arlington Great Southwest Rotary Club where she is on the Board of Directors, is the Director of New Generation and chair for the Four-Way-Test speech contest sponsored by Arlington GSW Rotary Club.
 
Please note that this meeting is being held at the North Central Texas College Flower Mound Campus in the Lecture Hall - Room 102 (5400 Parker Square, Flower Mound, TX). The Lewisville Morning Rotary Club will resume hosting regular meetings in the Christian Community Action Community Room (200 S. Mill St, Lewisville, TX) with its January 5th Meeting.
