This year, Club President Dr. Traci Petteway will be selecting a Rotarian of the Month in recognition of the club member that most exemplifies the Rotary and our clubs mission through their support, actions and commitment.
The July 2021, Lewisville Morning Rotarian of the Month is John Pokorny.
A member of Rotary since 1987. As a result of job changes throughout his career as a Facilities Engineering Manager, John has been a member of 4 different clubs. He has been a member of the Lewisville Morning Rotary club since 2007. Currently, he serves as the clubs Foundation Chair and Webmaster. A past president of our club in 2015-2016, John also is currently serving as the District 5790 Webmaster.
If anyone were to ask him why he is a Rotarian and why he is a member of the Lewisville Morning Rotary club, John would say "because Rotary allows me to serve and give back to our community in a much more impactful way than I could alone. Rotary's values of integrity, inclusion, acceptance of others ideas and Service-Above-Self using your vocation are values I wish to portray in my my daily actions. As to why Lewisville Morning Rotary, because to me they are family. It is a fun group to hang with and we just enjoy enjoy each others company. In 2007 I joined because of a job transfer and LMR's morning meeting time was more conducive to my new job schedule. For me, that change was like God leading me to a place where I could serve our community best and have fun doing it."
John and his wife Marilyn (also an LMR member), own and operate the FES Consulting Website Management. LLC. The company focuses on providing website and social media management services for non-profits, small businesses and clubs.
