The Lewisville Morning Rotary Club joined Cross Timbers Rotary Club, Flower Mound Rotary Club and the Lewiville Noon Rotary Club in sponsoring this years Lewisville Chamber of Commerce Unity in the Community Luncheon on August 25th at the Hilton Garden Inn.
Bob, Frances, TJ, Sunny and I were in attendance this year. This was record year for the Unity of Community event that had the greatest turnout ever.

I served on the voting committee with 4 other area Rotary clubs to select the top 3 non profits and pick the number one which is Loving Community which works with LISD to mentor the students on edge to prevent them from going the wrong path and move forward with opportunity. They partner with Communities in School which was also one of the finalists. The other was Habitat for Humanity Denton.
Not tooting my horn here, when the committee was at a draw I spoke about our club and suggested one measure to look at was service per capita and I referenced our club. This resulted in an immediate decision!!!!

The importance of Unity in Community is Rotary is recognized, but more important we get to learn about other non profits and decide what is a good fit for our club and where we want to spend our funds! You should have received some pics earlier.
