Lewisville Morning Rotary Salvation Army Kettle Volunteers

Chairman Steve Homeyer and a list of volunteers consisting of Frank Hebb, Howard O'Neal, Tom Atchison, George Gober, Naomi Lewis, Brent Myers, Cynthia Jaird, Marilyn Pokorny and John Pokorny helped the Salvation Army ring the Bell to encourage Sams Club shoppers to fill the kettle.

There are many stories that can be told which we experience when we ring for the Salvation Army.  Steve Homeyer and I were still setting up when a lady pulled up in her car.

She got out and said," my brother passed away from mysterious circumstances. This is the money that was on his person. I don't want it".  She then placed some bills in the pot. That was followed by her opening two cans. The first was full of pennies and the second was mixed coins.  You never know what has affected another persons life. For me I was glad to be a part of this event. I hope I have helped make a difference.
Our 5 PM Slot was hosted by Rotarian Cynthia Jaird and daughter Gabby with early arrival for 6 pm slot Marilyn Pokorny

Thank You to all the Rotarian and Family volunteers and especially to the generous donors that filled that Kettle to brimming.
