The March 22nd Water Treatment Plant Tour and family picnic was educational and fun.

So, how does UTRWD assure we in Denton County have a safe and plentiful supply fresh water? Last Thursday we found out by moving our weekly meeting to the Upper Trinity Regional Water Plant property.

We came, we saw and we learned. The tour of the plant and all its facilities and equipment was quite impressive. The water treatment chemistry and technology was an engineering masterpiece. All were quite impressed with the staff’s dedication to assuring our safety and health with great tasting water.

After our tour we enjoyed a picnic and heard from members who shared with our guests our Rotary projects. The meeting closed with a great presentation from our 2013 Rotary Youth Leadership Award recipient Ellisa Brown who shared the impact of RYLA on her success. She is going to use her education and leadership skills to make less fortunate parts of the world better.
