Gift Bags for UNT and TWU Students

Rotary has heart. Not every student that enters the University of North Texas or the Texas Womens University has a supportive family to encourage and support them through their college years. Some students are foster children eking out a college education by all means available. Yet they still need to know someone cares and is encourages them in their pursuits of a higher education.

 

The eight Rotary Clubs in Denton County (Area 11) have banded together to provide gift baskets or bags for 20 such students at UNT and 20 such students at TWU. Each club was assigned a different month . Lewisville Morning Rotary was assigned the month of April. At the April 14, 2016 Club Assembly club members will be asked to assemble these bags. We will be doing two things;

 

1. Writing Post Cards with notes of encouragement to each student

2. Inserting a $5 Starbucks Gift Card into a velvet gift bag

 

Please come to the April 14th Club Assembly meeting with 2-$5 Starbucks gift cards you have purchased or a $10 bill another member can use to purchase 2 cards. If members have ideas of other items we can give these young folks, we are open to more ideas. Just keep in mind that each bag has to contain exactly the same items for each of the 40 Students.
