Yes, there are homeless in Lewisville
Living in the Lewisville area, we don't see homeless people as often as folks in larger cities do. Do, we have homeless? Absolutely. We don't see them because they "camp" in places near the lake or in wooded areas. Or, even in the back yard of some generous acquaintance. The Salvation Army sees them however and they serve them by providing food and other necessities when they come to the soup kitchen on their W. Main Campus in Lewisville.
Lewisville Morning Rotary members put together 24 backpacks filled with basic essentials such as soap, socks, underwear, toiletries(TP and wipes), Fall & Winter gear (caps, gloves, scarves, long underwear), hygiene products, fingernail clippers, dental hygiene and hair care items.
Our #peopleofaction members each took the list received from Salvation Army and went shopping. The photo shows the 1st installment. Out Interact Club at The Colony High School is also preparing backpacks.
