Lewisville Morning Rotary members provide
Veterans Recognition Program for residents for
the Pinewood Hills Retirement Community
in Flower Mound, Texas
 
Lewisville Morning Rotary members Mark Smith, Mary Jones, Frank Hebb and Bob Troyer provided a veterans recognition ceremony for the residents of the Pinewood Hills Retirement Community on Veterans Day 2020.
Frank Hebb opened the program. Followed by Club President Mark Smith 
 Member Mary Handley Jones also spoke.
 
In addition, Flower Mound High School JROTC members Cadet Kazuki Soeda and Cadet Kriti Kumar provided the color guard duties.
 
 
Next to Mark- who is kneeling- Gold Star recipient Flo Herbert- who was also at the Oval Office Ceremony when President Clinton signed legislation establishing the recognition of wives who lost their husbands in WWII. She is also Past President of The Gold Stars of America. 
The flag was raised to the top and then lowered to half staff in recognition of our Veterans who didn’t make it back home, or have since passed away.
 
 
Scott Allison the General Manager of Pinewood Hills Retirement Center (red shirt next to Mark) a variety of residents who either served, was married to a service member, or have kids in the service active or veterans.
 
Residents were wowed at the conclusion of the event by an entertainer.
