The community showed up to show their support for the Salvation Army Lewisville - Restoration Celebration and ribbon cutting today. The event was to celebrate the recent renovation project to consolidate the downtown food pantry with the worship center located on Fox Avenue.
The new combined service and church center on Fox Avenue is a great place for anyone in the community to receive support. The Salvation Army has been in the Lewisville Community since 1997. The center offer a wealth of services to those in need in our community. |
Major Dwayne and Marion have been at this post for two years. Their love for the community shines in all that they do. They are consistently putting others' needs before their own and have made a big impact in the center and their community. We are blessed to have them. |
We heard a touching story how Major Marion's prayer for Love was answered as she answered Christ's calling to love and serve others in need. In addition to our community, the Salvation Army, Lewisville also has an emergency services vehicle that is poised and ready to go where called to support those in need when any disaster has impacted a community. |
We have been blessed to use the vehicle each Christmas Holiday as they allow us to use the vehicle for our Pancakes with Santa event! We also look forward to our opportunity to "ring the bell" over the holiday season. Finally, we had the privilege of delivering the grant check for $1000.00. We are so pleased to have the opportunity to partner with the local outpost of the great organization. |
