No such thing as
"All work and no play makes
Jack a dull boy" in the
Lewisville Morning Rotary Club

Our club is well known in Lewisville for the community service our members do throughout the year. We also love to party, enjoying good fellowship, food and beverages with our Rotary Families. We have two upcoming dates that members should mark on their calendars; the August 22nd 4th Thursday Mixer at the Larue Winery and the September 7th End of Summer Party (see graphic). Please register by clicking these links.
August 3rd Blood Drive a Huge Success
Blood Drive at Lakeland Plaza
August 3rd
Exceeded Blood Van Goals

In a memo to us from Carter BloodCares Susan Holt she says; I wanted to thank you for an excellent blood drive on Saturday. We collected 26 pints of blood.

26 pints X 3 = 78 lives saved by Premier Gun Show Donors and Rotary volunteers! BRAVO!!!

Thank you to Dr. Kelly Reed who took over for Jeff Siebert in the hospital. Kelly managed the set-up, take down and transport of all the blood drive signs and coordinated the location for the CarterBlood Care bus. Other members helping arrange donors were Mark Smith, Terry Kasen, Maithen Fluhrer and John Pokorny. Most importantly, thank you to our 26 donors.

Join us September 9th for a fun book discussion on "Defending Jacob" a mystery novel by William Landay. Good fellowship, wine and perceptive conversation about one of today's intriguing books.

Rotary Members Care and Pray
Please continue to pray for Jeff Siebert, DDS
And Frances Al-Waely as both recover
after hospital care.

Jeff continues to recover albeit slowly from pneumonia and Frances continues to recover from ankle surgery and other medical issues. Both are thankful for our caring concern and want us to know they hope to back among us soon,

Several of our members helped member Tom Atchison move this past week end for which he is extremely grateful.

Please contact our Member Care Chair any time you are aware of a member that needs our thoughts and care.
People-of-Action have fun at Brews, Games & Friends party July 25th

Members and Non Members
enjoyed an evening of good beer, games and
fun with our Rotary Buds

An informal evening hosted by the LMR membership committee and Old Town Brewhouse to just chill, enjoy each other and laugh with friends. The evening was capped off with a game of Rotary Family Feud where 3 teams of 6 each competed for silly prizes by answering the "survey says" questions about Rotary.

Books for Central Library Program

Lewisville Morning Rotary provides books for
Central Elementary School Library

For at least 20 years, the Lewisville Morning Rotary Club has been donating at lease 35 library books to the Central Elementary School library. The book titles were selected by the Central ES head librarian and the club purchases the books in July. The books are then signed by our weekly program speakers and then given to the librarian.

Lewisville Morning Rotary to Launch a Rotary Community Corps
Rotary Community Corps (RCCs) are teams of men and women
who work in partnership with Rotary clubs to improve their communities

Membership in an RCC is open to any adult in the community who shares Rotary’s commitment to service but is not a Rotary member.  The RCC model is flexible and can mobilize volunteers from all walks of life. Informal meetings typically take place once per month and attendance is not mandatory.  This flexibility encourages diversity in membership and allows members to focus solely on service projects. RCCs also provide their members with opportunities to collaborate with Rotarians. Anyone interested in becoming an RCC member can submit an application form here.
