Dictionary Project - Dictionary Distribution

We will be delivering the dictionaries to 11 schools in LISD. At all but Lakeland, we will be giving the dictionaries directly the 3rd grade students. 

Please sign up to participate using the link on the side of the page.  Please note, the schedule times shown for each school are approximate.  People can meet at the school(s) you sign up for, or we can drive all together to each school. Mark Smith can text volunteers as we deliver to each school. 

Mark will meet volunteers at the first school each day with the dictionaries for that day.  School deliveries include 4 schools on Feb 15, 3 schools on Feb 16, and 4 schools on Feb 17.  See school addresses and times on the sign-up sheet.

Mark will have a portable dolly to transport boxes to classrooms. Rotarians will need to wear masks and check in with administration when they arrive.

While passing out the dictionaries, one Rotarian will speak to the students...

1. introduce yourself and your fellow Rotary Members from the LMR
2. Ask students to write the name on the 1st page. Demonstrate the location. Mention that dictionaries are theirs to keep
3. When every student has a dictionary, ask them to look up word rotary and let them read definition
4. Tell the story of how Rotary got its name
