Ray Bowens, Bob Troyer, Charlene Dierks, Marilyn Pokorny and John Pokorny all came back from Mineral Wells, TX with some great ideas that will help our clubs Membership, Foundation and Public Image efforts.

Welcome back Frances Al Waele. Former member Frances Al Waele will be rejoining our club at tomorrow's induction ceremony during the meeting.
We are collecting School Supplies for Pedi-Place all July and August. Click here to see the list of supplies needed and bring them to a meeting. Bring your donated school supplies to the Club Social this evening at LaRue's
We are also accepting online donations for these school supplies. Members will use the school supply cash and online donations to shop for the school supplies needed by Pedi-Place families.
Foundation Chair, John Pokorny is preparing a District Matching Grant submission for our annual Dictionaries for 3rd Graders Project. Pending approval of matching funds from the District, we will be distributing 984 dictionaries to 3rd graders in 11 of Lewisville ISD's elementary schools some time in October and November.
Friday, September 2nd Flag Chair Jeff Lighton and BSA Troop 9168 will start deploying our flags for Labor Day. They will be returning those flags to storage after Patriot Day on September 12th.
Lewisville Morning Rotary guest speaker, author and mental performance coach Todd Thomas shared some of his insights that helped him inspire athlete's at our August 18th Rotary meeting.
A mental performance expert and personal achievement author, Todd Thomas shared how athletes often fail to achieve because they are thinking to much. "He has seen many people throughout his life reach for their goals and fall short over and over again – including himself".
Our Corporate Membership option includes 1 designated RI member and up to 2 additional designated club members from that corporate organization. In addition, Corporate Membership includes sponsorship advertising on all club publicity including the club website, newsletters, fliers and brochures.
What are the benefits for a corporation? First, membership elevates the corporation's image in the community as a partner in service and a business committed to the community. Next, employees have the chance to develop leadership and professional skills such as project management, training, and public speaking. Corporate membership gives members access to Rotary's global network of 1.4 million volunteers and the opportunity to network while traveling or doing local service with other Rotarians. Membership would also emphasize a commitment to serving others as part of the corporate culture. Finally, a corporate membership can reduce the time commitment of any one member by allowing employees to attend meetings or events on each other's behalf.

Responsibility for the various activities that occur during our meeting are scheduled on a rotating basis to each member of the club.
There are several components to a successful Rotary meeting such as set-up and tear-down, greeter and guest introduction, 50-50 and happy thoughts, invocation, lead the pledges, arranging and introducing the speaker and our Rotary 4way test at the end of the meeting. The schedule is published on our website. Members are asked to review the schedule to determine when they are responsible for arranging the speaker. Try to arrange the speaker 4 to 6 weeks in advance. Please notify our webmaster, John Pokorny who your speaker is so your speakers name and presentation subject can be posted on the website to promote our meetings. Continue to keep Frances Al Waely in your prayers. She received some good news this week in that the issues with her liver are not permanent and she should have a full recovery.
